Ireland will be joining the international celebration with a family fun day in Sandyford Ski Centre on 14th and 15th January. The Snowsports Association of Ireland will bring an alpine atmosphere to Dublin, providing discounted ski lessons and lots of fun giveaways on the day!
International Ski Federation (FIS) president, Gian Franco Kasper, commented, “This is now our sixth edition of World Snow Day and we could not be prouder of the dedication, hard work and effort of the Organisers. Their work is making a difference and we look forward to celebrating the day”.
Despite not having the climate for a local ski season, skiing is a hugely popular leisure and sporting activity for Irish families. With centres such as the Sandyford Ski Centre and Kiltiernan, Irish skiers can work on their skills in off season and in the lead up to their winter getaways to colder climates.
