In the new role, Paddy will represent the company at numerous industry events in the UK and Ireland, including Leisure Industry Week and the Sport and Fitness Show in Dublin. Paddy will also write a monthly fitness blog, discussing his fitness progress and training updates as he works towards becoming a REPS qualified Level 4 advanced personal trainer and fitness instructor.
The announcement of Paddy as a CYBEX Ambassador is an extension to the relationship between the hit television show and CYBEX who was the official equipment supplier for the US show and were asked to support the UK series with equipment. The agreement also follows an established, successful partnership between the CYBEX and fitness ambassador Patrick House, a previous winner of the US version of the popular show, whose life has been transformed thanks to The Biggest Loser.
Following his time on The Biggest Loser, Paddy lost 92 pounds over five months, totalling 31.19% of his percentage body weight. Since leaving the show, Paddy has continued his transformation and is working towards becoming a fully qualified personal trainer with his progress being updated as he writes for a new and exclusive CYBEX blog.
Paddy’s new fitness regime can also now include use of the CYBEX Arc Trainer as he now has his own ‘home Arc’ to allow him to continue to use the scientifically proven calorie burning equipment he used to such good effect during this year’s Biggest Loser.
Commenting on the announcement, Paddy said “I am very excited about working with the team at CYBEX as a CYBEX Ambassador for the UK and Ireland. My first experience of using CYBEX equipment was at the Biggest Loser boot camp, where I quickly realised first-hand the results that can be achieved through regular, well-structured exercise.
“Following my time on the show, I proactively contacted CYBEX to discuss the opportunity of owning a home Arc Trainer myself. Now that I am studying to become a Personal Trainer, I fully appreciate the innovative quality of CYBEX’s equipment at a professional level and look forward to incorporating this into my clients’ routines.”
Throughout the last UK series, which saw an average of four million viewers each week, contestants were filmed using a full suite of cardiovascular and strength training equipment provided by CYBEX.
Rob Thurston, national sales manager for CYBEX UK, said, “The Biggest Loser provides fantastic exposure for CYBEX equipment, both through the UK and US versions of the show. The show changes lives and helps inspire others to become more active and with role models such as the latest CYBEX Ambassador Paddy coming out of the show we look forward to maintaining a really positive relationship with Biggest Loser.
Paddy will be a great ambassador for CYBEX and we are really looking forward to working with him at our upcoming events to showcase both the effectiveness of the equipment and promote just what can be achieved when you are determined to succeed and achieve you goals.”
