The pair were less than 2 minutes down on silver medallist and world number 8, Christine Robbins of Canada and continue to improve with each race.
In the men’s PT3 category, Garrett Turbett clocked 1:22:35 for a bronze medal with the race won by USA’s Andre Cilliers followed by world number 11, Leonardo Curvelo in 2nd.
Aidan McGlynn, in the men’s PT4 category put in a fantastic performance in the highly competitive category to finish 5th.
McGlynn was in the mix throughout thanks to a strong showing across all three disciplines covering the distance in 1:05:53.
“A day of mixed emotions” McGlynn commented after the race.
“Two kicks to the face took the goggles off 100 metres into the swim. Another 5th place result in a strong field and on a very cold and tough course.”
The team is set to compete next at the Paratriathlon World Championships in Chicago on September 18thwith Catherine Walsh and Aidan McGlynn racing their first Paratriathlon World Championships.
