WellFest has announced details of their new dedicated kids area that will feature at this year’s festival, which is taking place on May 6th and 7th in Herbert Park. Sponsored by Irish Life Health, WellKids will host activities over the course of the festival that are specifically for kids to enjoy.
The new WellKids zone means parents can bring their little ones along to the festival, safe in the knowledge there will be plenty there to keep them entertained.
The dedicated children’s space will offer a younger audience the chance to try different forms of exercise, yoga and mindfulness. Partnership classes will also be on offer, allowing children and their parents or guardians to partner up and try out new activities together.
As well as WellKids, some WellFest line-up highlights include: a Q&A session with John Kavanagh (Coach to Conor McGregor), a HIIT workout with Joe Wicks ‘The Body Coach’ – the man behind the ‘Lean in 15’ phenomenon, cooking demonstrations from The Happy Pear.
Commenting on the approaching festival, WellFest Co-Founder Katie Ryan said they added specific family-friendly features based on feedback received from attendees in previous years.
“The festival is now in its third year, and is established as a ‘must-attend’ event for those with an interest in their personal fitness and health,” she said. “Last year, was the first year we allowed kids to attend and it worked really well, so we decided to put together a special family-friendly programme of activities for WellFest 2017.
“We’ve been able to attract a star-studded line-up for May, featuring some of the most exciting health and fitness experts from Ireland and abroad. In addition to the new WellKids space, we have an expanded food space, WellFood. So people can come along for the weekend and make a real family occasion of it, taking a break from fitness activities to enjoy some delicious food and family fun.”
Irish Life Health Sponsorship
Commenting on Irish Life Health’s sponsorship of the new WellKids area, Liz Rowen from Irish Life Health said: “At Irish Life Health we want to help families get fit and healthy so getting involved in Wellfest will help them do this. It’s particularly great to be involved in the first of these events that will involve kids as we know habits start at a very young age and parents and children participating together is both a positive step and fun. We hope everyone enjoys the WellKids area and get some tips that they incorporate into their everyday lives.”
