AlterG Bionic Leg 1.8 Features Soft Goods and Hardware Upgrades
AlterG has released an upgraded version of their revolutionary Bionic Leg, featuring improvements in both soft goods and hardware elements, resulting in one of the most advanced rehabilitation tools available in the medical technology world.
AlterG, creator of sports and medical technology, including the Anti-Gravity Treadmill, released the new Bionic Leg in June and will begin selling them in July 2015. The improvements include a new non-permeable material that is in direct contact with the user’s pants/legs, making it simple to put on, easy to clean and more comfortable than ever. New reversible foot sensors have been installed, for quicker patient set-up, and interchangeable sensor use, while updated cable wiring from the hardware to the foot sensor makes it easy for the therapist to apply a comfortable fit for a wide variety of patients.
Gabriel Griego, VP of Marketing and Clinical, noted that; “These substantial improvements to the Bionic Leg were a result of feedback from physical therapists, physicians and patients, as we’re constantly looking to improve their experience and the ease of use and effectiveness of the Bionic Leg.” The AlterG team worked with customers over the past year to assess the Bionic Leg and did rigorous testing and quality checks while developing this new version. Griego emphasized that; “Our aim is to continue to develop and create the most advanced physical rehab and training technology available, and we are proud that the Bionic Leg is helping thousands of patients every day get up on their feet and improve their strength and mobility.”
The Bionic Leg is available in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and physical therapy clinics across the nation and worldwide, and can be accessed by searching via zip code on AlterG’s Facility Locator online at:http://www.alterg.com/product/

Our innovative products, the Anti-Gravity Treadmills® and the AlterG Bionic Leg™, are designed to enhance rehab and training for everyone from pro athletes to seniors to kids.
Our Anti-Gravity Treadmills use Differential Air Pressure (DAP) technology, originally developed at NASA, to comfortably and precisely unweight patients to as low as 20% of their body weight, enabling them to walk or run with reduced impact. The Bionic Leg, designed for patients with neurological and orthopedic gait disorders, is a robotic assistive device that is activated by patient initiated movement and provides stability and assistance for a full range of mobility training.
