If you’re dizzy for dairy, you’ll go loco for Koko Dairy Free – a brand new range of dairy, soya, gluten and nut free yogurts that taste so good you wouldn’t know they weren’t dairy. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians, the range launches this summer in five tantalising flavours: Strawberry, Peach and Passionfruit, Original Plain, Raspberry and Lemon and Coconut. The yogurts can be found in Dunnes Stores, Asda and independent health food stores across Ireland.
Koko yogurts harness the power of coconuts, meaning they are as good as, if not better for you, than the dairy original. Coconuts contain healthy medium chain fatty acids including lauric acid and research has shown that these fats are used by the body as energy rather than stored. As well as being dairy free, Koko yogurts are made from all natural ingredients with added calcium and vitamins to support strong bones.
Freshly pressed coconut cream sourced from the family’s own plantation is the base for each yogurt which makes the texture silky smooth. Crucially, the sometimes overpowering taste of coconut is not a feature in Koko’s range of yogurts – aside from the Lemon & Coconut, which contains all of the classic coconut flavour and texture.
