Sport Summit will be 2015′s premier sporting meeting place – see it at Web Summit.

Technology transcends industries – the days where technology referred only to engineering and code have gone, replaced by a much broader influence across disciplines. Sport is an industry that has evolved with technology. Take the Rugby World Cup and the constant use of Hawk-eye & the TMO as a current, and relevant example of that.
At Sport Summit players, coaches, & innovators are coming to talk about how sport is changing and what that means. Among those joining are Chris Froome, Edwin van der Sar, Ian Ayre, Jed York & Tiki Barber. Today we’re delighted to add another 10 speakers to the list, lots of big names & lots of different sports.
Rio Ferdinand – BT Ambassador
Rio has captained his country, won everything in the English domestic game, twice been the world’s most expensive player, has been to Web Summit once – and is coming back again!
In 2002 Rio became the world’s most expensive footballer, joining Manchester United for a fee in the region of £30m. At United Rio has won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup & League Cup. He’s currently a BT Sport Ambassador, Football Expert and Programme Maker.
Carl Frampton – IBF Super Bantamweight World Champion
A World Champion Boxer, a hometown hero and the man that sold out an outdoor arena in the Titanic Quarter on a freezing Autumn evening, Carl Frampton has most definitely captured the imagination. He’ll be joined at Web Summit by his Manager Barry McGuigan who himself conquered the boxing world 30 years previous, and his coach Shane McGuigan.
Paul Liberman – Co-founder – DraftKings
Fantasy Sports are hot right now, very hot. DraftKings have raised $375m in 6 rounds from 24 investors, and we’re very excited to have Paul Liberman, Co-founder of DraftKings, join us at Web Summit to talk about the company and the speed at which the market is evolving.
Brian O’Driscoll – BT Ambassador
An Irish Rugby legend and one of the greatest players ever to play the game, Brian hung up his boots last year and has flowed seamlessly into punditry with BT. Used to the big stage throughout his career, Brian will be on a different type of stage when he takes to the sport podium at Web Summit.
Jene Elzie – VP of International Marketing – NBA
Jene Elzie is Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Europe, Middle East & Africa for the NBA.
