Body Mind Balance Weight Management has successfully conducted a special training class last Saturday to promote the Green Ribbon campaign. The campaign is all about raising awareness of mental wellbeing, reducing the stigma attached to mental health issues and get Ireland talking about mental health. The Tallaght based Weight Management & Fitness Company’s aim was also to highlight the connection between exercise and mental health, as research shows that regular exercise is one of the most effective ways to improve your mental well being. Regular exercise has been found to have a positive impact on depression, anxiety and stress and it will boost your overall mood.
Body Mind Balance Weight Management is a unique weight loss program that takes a holistic approach to weight loss by blending both body and mind. The staff includes an experienced personal trainer and a psychologist, and together they have developed a program that not only provides a healthy nutritional plan and fitness training, it also provides group support in helping their clients deal with emotional eating, cravings and triggers that lead to overeating. The core principle of the company revolves around a simple philosophy i.e. a fit and healthy body needs a fit and healthy mind.
“We believe in team oriented approach to get the results and we have divided our clients in small groups so that we can focus more on each client.” Said Susi Lodola, the Psychologist and one half of the Body Mind Balance Weight Management. “Our clients train once or twice a week in a small group with their own personal trainer in the gym and once a week meet up for their cognitive behaviour coaching (CBT), which I personally take care of.” She added.
Alongside Susi is Gerard Minihan, the dedicated and experienced personal trainer at the company. Known by his clients as ‘Ger’, he is an inspiring expert with over 15 years of professional experience in training and instructing. He has helped several clients reach their goals in the past and both Susi and Ger have a great professional combination, which symbolises the company as a blend of mind and body. Both work together to combine psychology with health and fitness to achieve goals more authentically.
The idea of combining body and mind to help people lose weight came about when Ger started training Susi and helped her achieve a weight loss of over 5 stone. “Ger’s approach to personal training takes the whole individual into consideration, and sometimes he would just sit you down instead of training and try and help you figure out what your obstacles to weight loss are,” says Susi. “Susi’s training in psychology and psychotherapy and my approach to personal training provided a common base for us to come together and create a program that is based on international research on the most effective way to permanent weight loss, and over the past yer we have helped many clients achieve their goals”, ads Ger.
Body Mind Balance is located at Westpark Fitness at Greenhills Road, Tallaght, but the clients don’t have to be the members of Westpark Fitness to join the program. For further details, please visit: www.groupbmb.com or call 0879184590.
