With research showing that more of us are exercising and dieting than ever before, why are we still finding it so hard to go from shapeless to shapely? When it comes to fitness and nutrition, where are we going so wrong?
Such questions will be answered during the educogym Blackrock Open Day on Wednesday August 8th, located just across from the DART station. If you wish to take part in free fitness sessions with the personal trainers, just bring along appropriate exercise gear. The sessions will take place throughout the day at 8 am, 1pm, 6pm & 8pm so those attending can really test their fitness levels. Personal trainers will be on hand to give advice on fitness & nutrition. Free samples of products, including protein drinks, plus discounts on memberships will be available on the day. Three month programmes with unlimited supervised sessions with your own personal trainer will be offered for €650 or 18 sessions spread over 6 weeks for only €299 – savings of over €100 per package!
Think about fitness and many of us see marathon runners and high-performance athletes. Being fit is not about being able to run a marathon. Instead, it’s about being in physically good shape and healthy as the result of correct exercise and proper nutrition. To be healthy and great shape a person should focus on their metabolism. Your metabolism is largely based on how active your muscle tissue is – the better condition your muscle, the better the metabolic rate and, therefore, the easier it is to burn excess body fat and the more energy you will have. An incredible 90 per cent of the calories a person burns daily are burned by their muscle tissue, which is why it’s so important to get nutrition and exercise right!
