9 August 2015; Denis Chevrot, France, fought off stiff competition to take the gold medal at todays inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Dublin. Dublin City Council hosted the competition which saw over 2500 athletes complete a 1.2 mile swim in Scotsmans Bay in Dun Laoghaire, before mounting their bikes to travel through Dublin and west of the city for a 56 mile cycle, to return to the Phoenix Park for the 13.1 mile half-marathon. 1,500 Irish athletes took part in todays event and 1,000 international athletes from 40 countries travelled to Dublin to compete in the gruelling competition.
