Calling all adventure seekers, philanthropists, rugby fans and cycling enthusiasts… Ireland’s rugby heroes need your help! Join Paul, Mick and David Wallace, and many others, as they battle against cancer in the 2013 Viviscal Rugby Legends Malin to Mizen Charity Cycle this September in aid of C.R.O.S.S. Whether for fun or to show support for family and friends, your participation will help to raise much needed funds for Cancer Research of the Oesophagus and Stomach at St. James’s Hospital, Dublin. With 30,000 new cases of the devastating disease reported annually in Ireland, the Viviscal Rugby Legends invite everyone to strap on their helmets, inflate their bike tires, and get on the road for this important fundraising cycle.
One in three Irish people are at risk of developing cancer in their lifetime, meaning that every person on our Island at some stage in their life is likely to be affected by the life claiming disease. The Wallace brothers, Ireland’s greatest ever Rugby trio, are inviting teams to join them for the duration of the 7 day cycle, or for a stage of your choosing, from Malin to Mizen head along the stunning and scenic Irish west coast. Use this opportunity to do some team building or family bonding and at the same time rub shoulders with Ireland’s greatest sporting heroes and take in the breath taking scenery – all in aid of an extremely worthy cause. Entry donations begin at €275 covering accommodation, food, transfers and immeasurable craic!
The generated funds are donated to the registered charity C.R.O.S.S. to support cancer research. Donations make possible the purchase of revolutionary laboratory equipment which drives innovative research projects and aids in the understanding, prevention and treatment of diverse forms of cancer. Moreover, the charity supports the education and training of medical and scientific students at the Institute of Molecular Medicine, Trinity College and St. James’ Hospital in Dublin.
