staff is now invested in improving individual and collective performance in the area of Quality and Occupational Health and Safety.
Patsy Ryan, the Mardyke Arena UCC General Manager, spoke enthusiastically about the achievement: “Since the opening of the facility in 2001 we have strived to excel in all areas of operation and indeed we have made great strides
over the last 12 years. We decided in 2012 to embark upon our ‘Drive for Excellence’ programme in order to improve our system of management and to seek formal external verification of our progress. As a recognised world-class
facility the obvious path to take was to look for certification to world class standards such as ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001.”
John Ryan, Director of Services at Certification Europe who presented the certificates to Patsy Ryan affirmed: “The Mardyke Arena UCC have always strived for excellence from day one of their road to attaining Quality and Occupational Health & Safety standards. By undertaking these best practices they now have defined the internal systems which allow them to reach their goals of continuous improvement. It is a source of great pride for Certification
Europe to work with future-looking organisations such as the Mardyke Arena UCC.”
