Inspiration, Information and Education – just some of the ingredients for hugely successful “Mental Health and Wellbeing Summit

October 12, 2018 by admin

October 11th saw an incredible turn out of attendees from all sectors at the third annual “Mental Health and Wellbeing Summit”. Among the keynote speakers were Joe Schmidt, Brent Pope, Dublin GAA All Star, Nicole Owens, Professor Jim Lucey, Dr Colman Noctor, Professor Niall Moyna and Fiona Tuomey, all of whom shared their personal experiences and advice on how to “Mind your mind…not just your head!”

This is Mental Health Awareness Week which has seen a number of different awareness campaigns and events taking place but Ireland’s ONLY “Mental Health and Wellbeing Summit” provides access to the widest range of mental health support services, education and advice under one roof for one day.

This year, organisers were blown away by the demand for tickets and had to close down ticket sales at lunchtime the day before the Summit. Dearbhla Meaney, Event Founder and Organiser said…”I think the numbers we have here today is an indication of the huge appetite and need for open access to information and education across all areas of mental health”.

Trending at number one on Twitter in Ireland throughout the day, the Summit attracted over 500 attendees from all over Ireland, the UK and the USA from all sectors who came together to share and gather information about managing Mental Health at work, at home and in everyday life. This year the Summit has partnered with three major companies who are leading the way in championing mental health awareness in the workplace – Irish Life Health, L&M Keating and John Sisk & Son.
