The Brownlee brothers have partnered with Sony for an autumn endurance test showcasing the battery life of their latest flagship smartphone, Xperia Z3, which boasts an unprecedented two-day battery life.
The triathlete brothers were tasked with completing a series of different running, cycling and swimming challenges over two full days, all the while checking in on the battery life of their Xperia Z3 smartphones as the adventure continued.
“We are not sure how long the phone is going to last, or how long our legs are going to last,’’ said Alistair Brownlee. “This is a competition against the battery of an Xperia Z3 phone. It’s supposed to last two days, but we are going to use it as much as we can in the challenge, and basically try and wear it down.’’
The brothers set out from their hometown of Bramhop and made their way north, with each athletic endeavour relayed to them, in real time, via their Xperia Z3 Lifelog app.
The first day saw the brothers cycle, run and swim through the English countryside, finishing up at Dumbarton via the Scottish border. Day one footage, captured by Sony, can be seen here:
Released Tuesday, the second part to the series shows the brothers covering ground from Loch Lomond to Duncansby Head. Day two footage can be viewed here:
