OnePlan, the world’s leading live event site and venue planning platform, is partnering with Ireland’s major Athletics events this Autumn, as well as with various other Irish leading venues and event partners, from Fingal County Council to Croke Park, the home of the GAA and Ireland’s Gaelic Games.
These events and organisations have chosen OnePlan’s industry-leading planning and collaboration software for its ability to help them save time and money, and increase the safety of their events.
The upcoming Dublin Marathon is Europe’s fourth largest with 22,500 runners taking part annually, and naturally such large crowds and competitive action are a massive operational challenge in terms of crowd management, capacity management, security, health & safety, traffic management, and more.
Prior to using OnePlan, the Dublin Marathon team relied on outdated methods like Powerpoints and CAD files to plan the route. With the OnePlan software teams can work collaboratively from anywhere in the world, saving large amounts of time and money on site visits, with a reduced environmental impact too.
With tens of thousands of runners and supporters alike, safety is paramount for planners. With OnePlan, organisers can use crowd measurement tools and other safety features to ensure the race runs smoothly, avoiding crowd issues as seen at other large-scale events recently.
Neil Kennedy, Technical Director for Irish Life Dublin Marathon said, “Working with OnePlan has allowed us to combine infrastructure, logistics, project management and crowd safety in one tool that can be edited and shared with ease. This has brought clarity and a new level of efficiency to the management and presenting of The Dublin Marathon”.
This is the first year the Triathlon has brought in OnePlan, having seen the benefits the platform has brought to various other global triathlons through its partnership with World Triathlon. The ‘OnePlan for Triathlons’ site planning system allows for highly accurate and collaborative planning between the World Triathlon Operations team and Sports department and the LOCs, where everything from interactive 3D mock-ups right down to barrier placement and quantities can be set up. By combining mapping and visual planning tools, the result is a considerably more hands-on and manageable approach.
Philippe Bourdarias, Vice President at OnePlan, comments, “More and more organisations in Ireland are embracing OnePlan as a partner, and seeing the benefits our technology can bring to their events. We work with close to 200 events and venues now which is really exciting to see, and I’m sure we’ll continue growing at this rate.”
These are among the latest partnerships OnePlan has formed with leading sporting events and bodies, including the Paris Olympics in 2024, the Tour of Britain, Silverstone, the Los Angeles Clippers, and more.
