International fitness equipment supplier Cybex International has supplied Nottingham Forest FC’s new training facilities with a range of cardiovascular and strength training equipment in a contract worth £18,500.
March 2011 saw the completion of an installation of a range of Cybex cardio and strength equipment for Championship promotion chasers Nottingham Forest.
The contract will see CYBEX supply one of the country’s biggest football teams outside of the Premier League with equipment from the Big Iron Series, including a Power Rack and Olympic lifting platform.
Alongside this, the club have also ordered two Arc Trainers, the latest in non-elliptical premium cardiovascular training equipment, which have also recently been installed at the training facilities of Manchester United FC.
The £18,500 contract also included the installation of a Bravo Functional Trainer, which was added to the order following a team trip to Champneys Health Resort, who CYBEX International also supply with a full range of fitness training equipment. Having experienced the Bravo at Champneys, the fitness team at Nottingham Forest placed an order for a customised Bravo to add to their portfolio of new CYBEX fitness equipment.
The equipment has been installed as part of the new facilities at Nottingham Forest’s training ground in West Bridgford which opened last week. The £1.5m project is the first phase in a three-stage redevelopment programme for the Academy and has seen significant involvement from Nottingham Forest’s first team manager, Billy Davies.
The partnership between CYBEX and Nottingham Forest has been well received, as Nottingham Forest’s Head Physiotherapist Andrew Balderston commented: “We have found CYBEX a highly professional organisation to deal with, as befitting their status as world leaders in their particular field. The Arc Trainer has proved to be an excellent addition to the equipment in our gym.”
“It is straightforward to use but its range of features, particularly its wide selection of resistance choices, allow us to closely monitor progressions of workload for players rehabilitating from injury.”
Rob Thurston, National Sales Manager for CYBEX International said: “When we first met Andrew and his team they made it very clear that they only wanted the best possible equipment for the players and so for the club to have chosen Cybex above our competitors is a testament to the quality and design of the Bravo, Arc Trainer and Big Iron. We are sure that the players will get the most out of the equipment and the fantastic new facilities that the club have invested in.”
