Galway athletes from Limitless Health took home bronze at the National Weightlifting Championships held in Cork on Saturdaylast 18 July.
Kieran Joyce, with a Snatch of 100kg and a personal best with a Clean & Jerk of 140kg took home bronze at his first nationals. Team mate Liam McKnight snatched a personal best of 110 kg and 135kg Clean &Jerk for another personal best. Liam also broke the minimum standard for European Junior championship.
Female lifters Kelly Lee (48kg class) snatched a personal best at 46kg followed by another personal best in the clean & jerk at 56kg. Michelle Curtin, (58kg class) snatched a competition personal best of 56kg followed by another personal best in the clean & jerk at 75kg, winning a bronze model at her first Nationals competition. Abby Rekas-Rosalbo (75kg class) snatched a competition personal best at 66kg followed by another personal best in the clean & jerk at 77kg, winning a bronze model at her first Nationals competition.
“Each athlete competing brilliantly and we are delighted with the overall results for the club,” said Coach Kevin D’arcy.
