Organisers are keen to stress that registration slots can only be bought through official channels, and have warned against purchasing race slots offered via social media to avoid being scammed. Organisers have now opened up an official transfer window until March 3rd to facilitate anyone unable to participate who would like to hand back their ticket and  have it allocated to another athlete.  There are two options, either to transfer your ticket directly to someone you know  or to just return it and race organisers will allocate it to someone on the waiting list. Race organisers are keen to stress that it is important for health and safety that race numbers and athlete details correspond correctly so going through the official channels to register ahead of raceday is essential.

Overview of Ticket Transfer Window,  Ticket Return and Waiting list procedures ahead of Cork City Marathon 2025:

  • Here is the procedure to follow if you had registered to take part in the full marathon but for whatever reason now cannot take part. Email info@corkcitymarathon.ie with the subject “Ticket Return Request”, before Feb 12th,  and race organisers will respond as soon as possible.

  • For those still seeking to register for the now sold out full marathon a waiting list will open on the marathon ticket page on eventmaster from Feb 5th  until  Feb 19th.

  • Those on the waiting list will be notified by Feb 24th and will then have 48 hours to claim their ticket! No further tickets will be released after this date.

  • Full details of the transfer and waiting list procedure is available on the Cork City Marathon Website.

Building on the record-breaking success of 2024, this year’s marathon promises to be bigger and better than ever. Organised by Cork City Council, the event caters to runners of all levels with three distance options: the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K race. Each route offers a unique opportunity to explore Cork City’s vibrant streets, scenic suburbs, and iconic landmarks, including Blackrock Castle and the thrilling Jack Lynch Tunnel.

Celebrating its 17th year, the Cork City Marathon is not just a race – it’s a celebration of community, resilience, and making a difference. Open to elite athletes, casual runners, and first-timers alike, the event offers a welcoming and inclusive environment. As this year’s  tagline ‘Your Race, Their Hope’ highlights, participants are encouraged to use their race to support charities and causes close to their hearts.

The Full Marathon has reached its capacity, however organisers are opening two windows to help people who have not got a ticket to secure any returns:

Transfer Window: (now live and will close on 3rd March) The Transfer window is now open and people who have a Full Marathon ticket can transfer their ticket to someone who wants one. This solution works where people know each other. The ticket is transferred from the person who has the ticket by logging into their eventmaster account clicking the transfer ticket option and entering the details of the person who wants the ticket. No payment is made through the system and as the people know each other they can come to their own financial arrangement between themselves. The following link can be used by the person getting the ticket to ensure that the person transferring the ticket does in fact have a valid ticket. https://eventmaster.ie/findticket/4RRZC4rFEe

Waiting List: Live 5th to 19th February

The waiting list will be live between Wednesday 5th February to Wednesday 19th February inclusive. A waiting list button will appear beside the marathon ticket on the regular Cork City Marathon sales page on eventmaster Cork City Marathon 2025 – Buy Tickets The person wanting to go on a waiting list for returned tickets can click on this button and submit their details.

 Ticket Return Request:

Live and close on 12th February Those wishing to return their full marathon ticket that they no longer need should email info@corkcitymarathon.ie before or on Wednesday 12h February and use the header Ticket Return Request. Please note there is no guarantee that the ticket can be returned. However we will do our best to accommodate this if there is a sufficient waiting list to cover your request. No requests will be considered after 12th February.

Those successful on the waiting list will get an email by 24th February and will have 48 hours to claim their ticket.

No further full marathon tickets will become available after this date.
