It’s going to be a Super Saturday at this year’s Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon on May 27th with the confirmation that the stunning Castle in Galway will play host to Ireland’s top age groupers as they battle it out in the first event of the 2017 Sprint Super Series, the only event of the Super Series in the West of Ireland.
The Super Series now in its 3rd year in Ireland caters for the appetite, skill and speed of the fastest athletes over the sprint distance triathlon of 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km. Racing on closed roads in a draft legal environment, chasing points, it’s the only series in the country that allows this type of triathlon racing.
With an increasing number of athletes qualifying to race at this level the Lough Cutra Sprint Super Series Race is expected to attract a large field of Ireland’s top athletes for the opening race of the season in the Series which will have a prize pot of €2,000 for the top 5 Lough Cutra Super Series male and female athletes. Those wishing to register for the draft legal Super Sprint Series can log in HERE.
Not only will the super speedy athletes race at this distance for the first time in Lough Cutra, the organisers have also added a non draft legal sprint race to their racing schedule to cater for the demands of those wishing to race at the distance. Entry to all events currently includes a 20% discount special, the discount will end on 31st January so don’t delay get booking HERE today.
Now in its 6th year in Galway, Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon will for the first time host a 2 day festival of racing with races to suit all levels and abilities and an anticipated field of 2,500 adults and juniors across a variety of racing distances.
