Lough Erne Resort, on the outskirts of Enniskillen in County Fermanagh, has created a unique Waterway Wellness Retreat to allow guests to experience the many benefits of being close to water, which is known to improve both health and wellbeing.
Water-focused wellness, which is often referred to as ‘Blue Mind’, is the inspiration behind the five-star resort’s newly curated package which encompasses lough-side yoga and personalised bath soaks for a truly relaxing and restorative escape. Guests can also upgrade their stay with a separate stand-up paddle boarding session on Castle Hume Lough – an activity made popular by celebrities including Jennifer Anniston, Pierce Brosnan and Julia Roberts.
Commenting on the specially developed wellness package and water-based activities, Joanne Walsh, General Manager at Lough Erne Resort, said:
“Science has proven that being near water sets our minds and bodies at ease and has many benefits on our health and wellbeing. Lough Erne Resort enjoys a unique lough-side setting, located within its own 600-acre private peninsula, which offers guests a relaxing destination to which they can escape and reawaken the senses. We were keen to work with experienced wellbeing providers such as yoga expert Genny Brown and the paddle boarding team at Blue Green Yonder, to facilitate a range of experiences which take advantage of our beautiful lakes and waterways.
“At a time when many people are seeking opportunities to relax and recharge, we believe guests want more than just a great place to stay and dine, which is why we’ve created these unique retreats and activity options, that we plan to develop further for Autumn and Winter.”
The Waterway Wellness retreat includes a two-night stay in one of the resort’s Lough-facing rooms with a healthy smoothie on arrival as well as a relaxing lough-side Yoga class. Guests will also receive a personalised Bath Butler experience in their guest room, with individually selected bath products chosen by therapists from the Thai Spa to create a calming, luxury soak. A tempting lunch in The Blaney Bar along with a three-course evening meal in the Loughside Bar and Grill is also included. The package is priced from £219 per person sharing (midweek) or £349 per person sharing (weekend) with paddle boarding sessions booked separately and priced at £15 per adult and £12 per child and a maximum class size of 8.
The Water Way Wellness retreat is just one of several newly created options at Lough Erne Resort with a dedicated focus on wellbeing which allow guests to take advantage of the peaceful County Fermanagh waterways and secluded walks. Guests can also avail of the Summer Serenity yoga retreat or the Peninsula Pamper Package, both of which offer a range of relaxing experiences as part of a luxury country escape.
In addition to a range of special features offered within the packages or as separately booked items, all guests can make use of the infinity pool and take in the views along the Collop Walk surrounding the resort.
The committed team at Lough Erne Resort has also created a detailed Guest Care and Wellbeing Promise to ensure guest comfort and safety throughout their visit, whilst still providing the warm Fermanagh welcome and attention to detail Lough Erne Resort is renowned for.
Activities such as paddle boarding and yoga will be limited to small groups to allow for social distancing and will be subject to availability. Paddle boarding should be booked separately at the time of booking.
