Over 4,000 Water Babies from across Ireland will be taking part in Water Babies Splashathon 2015, a sponsored swim for babies and toddlers which will take place at Water Babies classes between Saturday 18th – Sunday, 26th April 2015.
Water Babies Splashathon will raise vital funds for our national charity partner The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, Hand in Hand based in Galway, the Kilkenny branch of Down Syndrome Ireland and The Children’s Unit in Cork University Hospital which helps the families’ of young cancer patients. Water Babies Splashathon is a fantastic fun way to make a real and lasting difference to sick children and children with special needs around the country.
During Water Babies Splashathon fundraising week, babies and toddlers across the country will complete sponsored challenges in Water Babies classes, from swimming solo underwater to swimming through a hoop, baby and parent gliding together through the hoop or even completing a ‘Splashathon’ circuit challenge in the pool!
Therese McNally who runs Water Babies classes across Leinster said “Water Babies Splashathon has raised almost €100,000 euros since we launched Water Babies in Ireland six years ago and we are confident that since Water Babies has grown nationally with classes now in Dublin, Louth, Kildare, Meath, Galway, Mayo, Cork, Kerry, Sligo, Wexford, Waterford, Tipperary, Carlow and Kilkenny, we will be able to add significantly to this figure andraise much needed funds for our charities.”
Anna Daly from TV3’s Ireland AM and Evanne Ní Chuilinn from RTE Sport supported the launch of Water Babies Splashathon by taking a dip at St Michael’s House with Water Babies pupils and teachers .

During classes of the week commencing Saturday, 18th April to Sunday, 26st April, Water Babies instructors will be setting special Splashathon challenges as part of our Water Babies swimming lesson which will be related to the level that babies are swimming at. And children will be invited to dress in a circus theme.
Water Babies has fabulous prizes for the top Splashathon fundraisers including a free Water Babies course, a Skellig’s Chocolate Hamper, a €100 voucher for Yamamori Sushi, a Pom Bear Hamper, a Lily O’Brien’s Hamper and a year’s subscription to Netflix.
