Storm Uechtriz has launched a limited edition Skechers ‘Go Walk 2’ shoe in aid of the Marie Keating Foundation’s breast cancer awareness campaign. For every pair of the €65 Skechers ‘Go Walk 2’ shoes sold nationwide, Skechers will donate €10 to the Marie Keating Foundation. Speaking at the launch, Storm said, “Countless mothers, sisters, daughters and friends continue to hear the words “You have breast cancer” so it’s great to be involved with a positive partnership between Skechers and the Marie Keating Foundation which is promoting cancer awareness and raising vital funds. We can all play our part in the fight against cancer, and I’m proud to lend a hand by doing simple things like wearing Skechers Go Walk2 shoes.”
Storm, who is the partner of Ronan Keating, who founded the Marie Keating Foundation alongside his family after losing his mother to cancer in 1998, added, “I’ve learned from working with the Foundation that being physically active and doing at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise five times a week can help reduce your risk of breast cancer. Personally, when I wear my workout gear, I’m much more likely to want to get out there and exercise. I love my Skechers Go Walk 2 shoes because they look great, are so comfortable, and obviously they support a cause that is very close to my heart.”
The limited-edition Go Walk 2 is designed in a soft heather gray, and each shoe features the iconic breast cancer awareness pink ribbon, and celebrates those who use sports and fitness to lead an active, healthy lifestyle. The shoe is available exclusively in Skechers retail stores nationwide for the next two months or until stocks last.
Also speaking at the launch was Paul Gallagher, Skechers Ireland, who said, “”We’re honoured to be partnering with such an incredible organisation as the Marie Keating Foundation. They are making great strides in cancer awareness and prevention. Skechers Performance Division is proud to support the organisation and to come together to further promote awareness of both breast cancer and the great work that the Marie Keating Foundation does to help keep us all healthy.”
Linda Keating, Director of Fundraising, Marie Keating Foundation, added, “We are so appreciative of the funds and awareness that Skechers Performance Division and the GoWalk 2 shoe are helping us to raise. Collaborations like this are critical in helping win the fight against cancer and to maintain our life-saving work.”

About the Marie Keating Foundation
Following the death of their mother Marie in 1998, the Keating family promised that they would do everything they could to bring an end to breast cancer. They committed to provide Irish people with the necessary information to prevent cancer or detect it at its earliest stages. Their collective aim was “to make cancer less frightening by enlightening”
The Foundation has now expanded to raising awareness for all of the key cancers affecting both men and women in Ireland. Through our community outreach service, our nurses have reached over 180,000 people in schools, workplaces and communities nationwide on the causes and risk factors for cancer.
The Foundation also refurbishes hospital oncology waiting rooms, making them more comfortable for patients who use them, often for long periods of time. Through our Comfort Fund, we provide small grants to families in financial difficulty as a direct result of their illness.
