Martin King, much-loved star of TV and radio is asking people to join Irish Hospice Foundation on a special Camino this September. If you have always wanted to walk the Camino, now is the time to take your first steps.
When: 8th to 15th September 2023
Where: French Camino (stage one) Crossing the Pyrenees Saint Jean Pied de Port to Estella
What: 5 Walking Days 114km in total
Whether you want to tick the Camino bucket list, want to meet new friends in a beautiful part of the world or have your own special reasons to join us, this is the time to make it all happen.
IHF welcomes you on this unique and special journey as we walk 114km to reach the magnificent medieval town of Estella. We will look after you, your luggage, flights, accommodation and meals so you can focus on the walking with our experienced guides.
Our route spans the first stages of the French Camino and promises to be an unforgettable week. Providing a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy the history, culture and stunning landscapes of the beautiful towns along the route. Walkers can come alone or with friends and family.
Each walker takes on a personal challenge but will also be supporting people nationwide who are facing death, dying or bereavement. We rely on fundraising events like this to continue our work and we thank everyone that makes this possible.
Martin King said “We all know how important the work of Irish Hospice Foundation is in every part of the country. I am delighted to encourage people to join their Camino walk to raise vital funds.”
Helen McVeigh, Director of Fundraising at IHF, says “We thank everyone that supports our work by joining us on events like the Camino. This year I am very excited to be launching our fifth Camino walk, which for the first time is taking on the initial stage; following in the footsteps of walkers over the centuries. This is your chance to make every step matter for families facing their final times together and for those coming to terms with the loss of a loved one.”
