What are you dressing up as this Hallowe’en? How about keeping it simple, dressing up as a wicked witch or magical wizard and join Make-A-Wish® at the Witches and Wizards 5km Fun Run on Saturday 25th October, in the Phoenix Park!
Over 1,000 witches and Wizards are expected to attend on the day, including Make-A-Wish Ambassadors Devon Murray, who famously played Seamus Finnigan in the Harry Potter film series, and TV3’s Lucy Kennedy. There will be a shorter 2.5km option for children to join in too!
The event, which was launched by Devon Murray, Lucy Kennedy, and wish child Rhys Kane, will raise funds to help grant magical wishes to children aged 3-17 years battling life threatening medical conditions such as cancer, brain tumours, cystic fibrosis, heart disease, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy and many others.
Susan O’Dwyer, Chief Executive Officer, Make-A-Wish Ireland is looking forward to taking part. Susan said: “This is a fun day out for the whole family and a great opportunity for people to show off their Hallowe’en costumes. This is our first year doing this event and we are honoured to have the support of Skechers Ireland and Unislim. We have too many children waiting for their wish to be granted and we urgently need to raise funds to allow us to grant them so we hope the event is a great success.”
Make-A-Wish would like to thank Skechers Ireland who will be providing goody bags and refreshments on the day. Also everyone who takes part will receive their very own Witches and Wizards medal, courtesy of Unislim.
Registration is now open and entry costs just €20 for adults; €5 for children (17yrs and under); special family ticket rate (two adults and two children) is just €45. Children in a pram or buggy can participate for free!
