Run or Dye, the World’s most colourful 5km will be coming to Galway on Saturday 12th September for a colour-filled 5km run in the beautiful grounds of Lough Cutra Castle. Bringing the burst of Run or Dye colour to the grounds for the first time, participants can take on the 5K getting fit and experiencing the vivid colour of Run or Dye in a unique and one-of-a-kind setting.
Hundreds have already entered into Galway Run or Dye with participants encouraged to run, jog or walk to the finish line, getting covered head-to-toe in colour as they go. Four Dye Zones throughout the route will ensure there’s no getting away from the all-encompassing and full-on brilliance of the most colourful 5km in the World.
Close to the town of Gort, Lough Cutra Castle and Estate has a long and varied history. The countryside surrounding Lough Cutra contains much evidence of a history dating back to the Tuatha Da Danaans.
Susie Gwyn-Jones at Lough Cutra Castle and Estate said; “We are delighted to welcome back Run or Dye to the stunning backdrop of Lough Cutra Castle and to be able to host the event this coming September. Last year in partnership with Coole FC we saw over 1,000 participants take part and we hope just as many people sign up regardless of age or ability, to be part of this incredible event.”
Inspired by the ancient Hindu festival of Holi, also known as the ‘Festival of Colours’, Run or Dye gives runners, walkers and all speeds in-between, the opportunity to experience and celebrate in full colour the thrill of the Festival and introduce the idea of ‘living life on purpose’. Participants can run dressed in white and run ready or their favourite and most extravagant costumes. As part of registration all participants will receive a goody bag with their white t-shirt, their very own dye packs and plenty more to get geared up for the most colourful 5km ever experienced.
After crossing the finish line, runners, and spectators, can celebrate in the world famous Dye Festival as the full force of the brilliant colours are blasted all around. The explosion of dye ensures that this really is the most colourful 5km in the world!
