In celebration of World Mental Health Day on Thursday, 10th October 2024, Compass Group Ireland has announced a unique collaboration with renowned artist Sean Atmos to create a bespoke jigsaw puzzle designed to inspire mindfulness and connection among work colleagues. This year’s theme for World Mental Health Day focuses on the importance of mental health in the workplace and the vital role of connection in promoting well-being.
World Mental Health Day, established by the World Federation for Mental Health, serves as a global platform to raise awareness and mobilise efforts in support of mental health. This initiative aims to encourage open conversations about mental well-being, reduce stigma, and highlight the importance of mental health care in our daily lives.
As part of our World Mental Health Day activities, Compass Group Ireland is encouraging everyone to take a “Mindful Tea Break” and engage in the calming activity of jigsaw making. This initiative not only promotes mental wellness but also fosters connections among colleagues, creating a supportive work environment where everyone can thrive.
Deirdre O’Neill, Managing Director of Compass Group Ireland, states, “At Compass Group Ireland, we recognise the importance of mental well-being in the workplace. This initiative not only encourages our teams to take a moment for themselves but also fosters connection and open dialogue among colleagues. We believe that by taking mindful breaks together, we can create a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and heard.”
Sean Atmos, the visionary behind the jigsaw design, adds, “The design is made up of bold, scattered abstract shapes. When these shapes come together, they form the word ‘Together.’ This piece reflects important concepts of mental health, highlighting that while we may often feel scattered, by coming together and opening up, we can piece it all together.”
Mental health in the workplace is critical, as it directly impacts employee productivity, engagement, and overall organisational culture. By prioritising mental well-being, companies can help create a positive work environment that promotes resilience and encourages employees to seek support when needed.
In recognition of this, Compass Group Ireland is committed to integrating mental health awareness into its corporate culture. Through initiatives like the jigsaw puzzle project and Mindful Tea Breaks, they aim to foster an inclusive environment where mental health is openly discussed and supported.
