Ditch Cereals for Overnight Oats and reap the benefits in the morning

Let’s face it, sugary cereals do not help our summer body aspirations. Although they might taste great, they lack the key nutrients to give you that sustained energy throughout the morning. With summer only looming around the corner it’s time to replace them with a healthier oat based breakfast that will give you energy throughout the day.

 

To make oats more interesting and save you time in the morning check out this overnight oat recipe to help you get started.

Overnight Oats with Almond and Raspberry Recipe

Nutritional information:

 

Time to make: 6min

Protein: 50g

Calories: 570

Carbs: 67g

 

Ingredients:

 

  • Jumbo rolled oats (75g)
  • 1 scoop Chocolate Whey Protein (50g)
  • Cinnamon (1 tablespoon)
  • Almond Milk (160ml)
  • Raspberries (2 handfuls)
  • A squeeze of honey
  • Dark Chocolate (2 squares)
  • Chia seeds (1 tablespoons)
  • Greek Yogurt (1 tablespoon)

 

0-2min

Put the oats, whey protein and cinnamon in a sealable container (or mason jar for a more visual appeal)

 

2-4min

Throw in the raspberries and stir. For more flavour, add an extra bit of protein. Get creative and add in dark chocolate and chia. Pop the mixture in your fridge overnight.

 

4-6min

On waking, squeeze a little honey over the top, then heat your bowl in the microwave for two minutes, or if you are rushing out the door, put all into the blender, with almond milk and you’re good to go.
