Mariko contains no sugar, no fat, no calories
Mariko Sparkling Green Tea is Ireland’s first carbonated 100% natural green tea. It contains no sugar, no fat and no calories. It has high levels of antioxidants and is brewed by Christine Mc Andrew from Glencastle, Belmullet. Mariko was launched in Belmullet at the end of 2013, to a fantastic response, and is now becoming available in stores and restaurants all over Ireland.
While travelling abroad some years ago, Christine was amazed to see how many different types of teas she was offered when visiting family & friends. In recent years, she was unsurprised to find that tea is quickly becoming one of the world’s most consumed beverages and that the research surrounding green tea & its health benefits has boosted its popularity. This prompted Christine to experiment with creating an unique and wholesome beverage. Years of hard work and dedication has resulted in an amazing achievement in Mariko – a healthy, refreshing and naturally delicious product.
Mariko is made from pure green tea leaves, called sencha, which contain high levels of antioxidants, and is extracted using an unique brewing method. Unlike its international counterparts, Mariko is carbonated and does not contain artificial sweeteners, or sugar, or fat, or calories.
It is widely accepted that people choose green tea because they want to improve their health and lifestyle, or because they want to lose weight. Indeed, Maureen Gallagher, Unislim Leader of the Year 2013, was delighted with the launch of Mariko. She said, “As a teetotaller I would normally have diet drinks on a night out, but found that I was the one with the hangover the next day! Mariko is something that I will definitely be drinking on future nights out, and I also keep a bottle in my fridge. I gave out samples to my Unislim members last week and the overall feedback is very positive.
