Less stress and more satisfaction in life, quickly and easily? Try mindfulness using an app! Nine out of ten felt less stressed after a few weeks of meditation with the help of an app. And 75 percent were happier!
Mindfulness and meditation are well documented tools for reducing and dealing with stress. Many studies have been done on participants taking mindfulness courses, which meet one evening per week for eight weeks and are led by an instructor. One problem people face in the midst of a stressful life, is freeing up that one evening per week. A new study shows that engaging in mobile meditation on your own, could be just as beneficial!
Swedish based company MindApps asked 1055 users of The Mindfulness App what they experienced as the effects of regular use of the meditations in the app. In total, 89 percent experienced that they felt less stressed. 75 percent also felt more satisfaction with life. And the effect continues over time. After more than seven months of regular meditation with the app, 78 percent felt more life satisfaction and 90 percent experienced less stress.
Reduced stress and greater satisfaction with life are not the only positive effects experienced through regular meditation with the app. Other results reported by users are:
79% feel less worried
77% feel less depressed
77% experience improved focus
62% sleep better
The survey was conducted in June 2014 among 1,055 users of The Mindfulness App.
